What to expect
A specialized, personalized treatment experience
At Agudo Shockwave, we provide a specialized treatment experience using a high-end Omniwave® device combined with physical therapy assessment, skilled manual treatment when appropriate, movement guidance, and personalized care planning.
Our goal is to help you understand what may be contributing to your pain or limited function, determine whether shockwave therapy is a good fit, and create a plan that supports lasting improvement.

Your first visit
Your first visit is a full evaluation and introductory shockwave experience.
During this visit, we will take time to understand your symptoms, medical history, goals, and how your pain or limitation is affecting your daily life, workouts, sport, or activity.
Your visit may include:
- A discussion of your current symptoms and goals
- A movement and tissue assessment
- Identification of areas that may be contributing to your pain or limitation
- An introductory Omniwave® shockwave experience
- Education on what we find and what it may mean
- Initial guidance on next steps, exercises, or activity modifications
The purpose of this visit is not just to “try shockwave.” It is to determine whether this approach makes sense for your body, your goals, and your specific condition.
How care plans work
If you are a good fit for care, we will recommend a personalized plan based on your evaluation findings, your goals, your response to the introductory treatment, and the amount of support we believe you may need.
Most patients are not treated one visit at a time.
Shockwave therapy typically works best when care is consistent and structured over a series of visits. For this reason, we usually recommend a care plan rather than isolated single sessions.
Your care plan may include:
- Full Omniwave® shockwave treatments
- Physical therapy assessment and guidance
- Skilled manual treatment when appropriate
- Movement or exercise recommendations
- Progress check-ins
- Adjustments based on your response
- Maintenance recommendations when appropriate
Every plan is individualized. Some people need a shorter plan, while others benefit from a more complete treatment series and occasional maintenance visits.

What makes Agudo Shockwave different
Agudo Shockwave is not a basic wellness add-on or a quick machine-only appointment.
We use a high-end Omniwave® device and combine it with physical therapy knowledge, skilled manual treatment when appropriate, movement assessment, and individualized care planning.
This allows us to look beyond the painful area and consider contributing factors such as tissue sensitivity, load tolerance, strength, mobility, activity demands, training habits, and recovery.
Our approach is designed for people who want a more personalized, high-touch experience rather than a generic treatment.
Investment
Agudo Shockwave is a specialized, premium service.
Because every patient’s condition, goals, and treatment needs are different, investment details are reviewed privately after your evaluation.
If we determine you are a good fit for care, we will walk you through:
- The recommended plan
- The expected number of visits
- What is included
- Maintenance options, if appropriate
- The total investment before you begin
You will never be expected to start care without understanding the recommendation and the investment.
New patient opening special
For a limited time during our clinic opening, new patients may be eligible for a reduced-rate first visit. Availability is limited, and details will be reviewed when scheduling.
Who this is for
Agudo Shockwave may be a good fit for people dealing with pain, limited function, or tissue-related concerns that have not fully resolved with rest, stretching, exercise, injections, medication, or other treatments.
This may include people who want to:
- Stay active without constantly working around pain
- Return to workouts, running, lifting, or sport
- Improve mobility and function
- Address stubborn tendon, muscle, joint, or soft tissue pain
- Better understand what is contributing to their symptoms
- Try a more advanced, non-invasive treatment option
Who this may not be for
Shockwave therapy is not the right fit for every person or every condition.
You may not be a candidate for shockwave therapy if you have or are currently experiencing:
- Malignant cancer
- Active infections
- Open wounds in the area of treatment
- Implanted hardware over the area of treatment
- Pregnancy
- Active blood clot
- Current use of steroids, painkillers, or anticoagulants
- Recent steroid injections
Your evaluation helps us determine whether this approach is appropriate for you. If we do not believe shockwave therapy is a good fit, we will tell you and help guide you toward the next best step when possible.
Results and expectations
Every person responds differently.
Some patients notice changes quickly, while others improve gradually over the course of a treatment series. The goal is to create meaningful improvement over time, not just temporary relief after one visit.
Results may depend on factors such as:
- How long the issue has been present
- The type of tissue involved
- Your activity level
- Your strength, mobility, and recovery habits
- Consistency with the recommended plan
- Overall health and healing capacity
While we cannot guarantee a specific outcome, we can promise that your care will be individualized, thoughtful, and clearly explained.
Maintenance care
Some patients benefit from occasional maintenance visits after completing their initial care plan.
Maintenance may be recommended to help support long-term progress, manage flare-ups, or keep you active with less interruption.
If maintenance care makes sense for you, we will discuss those options after your initial plan or as part of your long-term strategy.
